Upward Sports at Bethany Baptist

Summer and Fall 2011: Bethany Baptist Church is offering youth flag football and cheerleading through Upward Sports. Upward Sports is an evangelistic sports ministry specifically designed for kindergarten through sixth grade students.

Summer/Fall 2011 Schedule:

Mid-May 2011: Look for brochures in your schools and online (at this site!)

June 15, 2011: Early Bird registration deadline (save $10)

July 7 (6 - 7:30 pm), 9 & 16 (9:30 - 11:30 am)
Player evaluations and parent orientation (attend one session - drop in anytime during hours listed)

July 27 - 7:30 pm: Final player evaluation
If you missed one of our other evaluation opportunities or are just now signing up, please come at 7:30 pm on Wednesday, July 27 for one more opportunity to be evaluated and sized for your uniform. Flag football players will be sized and run through some drills. Cheerleaders will just be sized and are then free to go. All parents will be given an information sheet with FAQ about the program and season.

August 4: (6:30 - 9:00 pm) Returning Flag Football Coaches training

August 6 (8:30 - 11:00 am) New Coaches training

August 10 (6:30 - 9:00 pm) Cheer Coaches training

Week of August 22: First practice (players commit to one practice per week Tu-Fri)

September 10: First games (players commit to one game every Saturday September 10 through October 29)

October 29: Last games, end of the year celebration

  • Ages: Boys and girls in kindergarten (5 years old) through 6th grade may participate.
  • Time commitment: One practice per week (Tue-Fri) One game per week (Sat)
